Players and queues

Music Assistant playback is centered around a player and its active queue.

Active player

Luuster keeps an active player selection so playback controls know which room or device they should target. Changing the active player should not itself start or stop playback.

Playback controls

The current foundation includes remote play and pause behavior. The longer-term control set is expected to include:

• previous and next;
• seek;
• volume and mute;
• repeat and shuffle;
• player power;
• grouping and ungrouping.

A control may be unavailable when the selected player does not advertise the corresponding capability.

Queue

The queue view shows the media scheduled for the active player. Queue editing, reordering, transfer, and richer context actions remain areas for continued implementation and testing.

Tip

When reporting a queue issue, include both the queue ID or player name and whether the queue changed from another Music Assistant client at the same time.
